We are looking for a creative and strategic PR & Social Media Manager to drive Medbury's public relations and social media activities, strengthening our brand visibility, reputation, and online presence. The ideal candidate will manage media relationships, craft compelling digital content, and lead our social media presence across platforms while tracking performance and translating insights into stronger engagement and brand growth. Key Responsibilities: Public Relations & Media Engagement: Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media advisories, and targeted media pitches. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and media organizations to secure positive media coverage. Develop and execute strategic public relations initiatives to strengthen Medbury's brand presence and reputation. Social Media Content & Community Management: Schedule and publish content across designated social media channels while ensuring consistency in brand voice and messaging. Create engaging mobile-first content, including videos, graphics, posts, stories, and reels for all social media platforms. Manage and engage online communities by responding to comments, messages, and audience interactions in a timely and professional manner. Develop and manage a monthly social media content calendar aligned with marketing campaigns and organizational priorities. Trend Monitoring & Performance Analysis: Monitor social media trends and recommend content opportunities that improve engagement and brand visibility. Track and analyze media coverage and social media performance using relevant analytics tools. Prepare monthly reports highlighting media coverage secured, audience reach, engagement metrics, follower growth, and key performance insights. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Brand Compliance: Collaborate with internal teams to support campaigns, events, product launches, and corporate communication initiatives. Ensure all communications adhere to the organization's brand guidelines and communication standards. Key Deliverables: A monthly performance report summarizing media coverage, social media reach, engagement, audience growth, and key recommendations for improvement. Weekly social media content, including posts, stories, reels, and mobile video content, delivered according to approved briefs. One approved monthly social media content calendar submitted by the 25th of the preceding month. A minimum of two press releases or targeted media pitches each month. Qualifications & Experience: Professional certification (e.g., CIPR, NIPR, or a recognized social media/digital marketing certification) will be an added advantage. Minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience: in public relations, social media management, or corporate communications. Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline. Who We’re Looking For: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling, brand-aligned messaging. Strong knowledge of media relations, content creation, and social media management best practices. Creative and innovative thinker who stays on top of social media trends and digital storytelling formats. Competencies: Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and represent the organization externally. Analytics & Reporting: Ability to track and interpret media coverage and social media performance data to inform content strategy and demonstrate impact. Integrity: High level of professionalism and sound judgment in managing the organization's public image and reputation. Copywriting & Storytelling: Strong skills in writing press releases, media pitches, and social copy that communicate the brand's voice clearly and persuasively. Social Media Management: Hands-on experience: with social media management and scheduling platforms (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Buffer) to plan, publish, and monitor content. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver on campaigns, events, and communication initiatives. Content Creation: Proficiency in producing engaging mobile-first content, including graphics, videos, posts, stories, and reels, using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or CapCut. Brand Management: Ensures all public-facing communication is consistent with brand guidelines, tone, and organizational standards.
