We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Head of Accounts to lead our finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, taxation, reconciliations, compliance, and audit activities while providing strategic financial insights to support business growth and decision-making. This role requires a strong accounting professional with proven experience: in financial management, reporting, regulatory compliance, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the company's accounting and financial reporting functions across all business locations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements, Management Accounts, Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and other financial reports required by Management. Manage monthly payroll processing and ensure accuracy in payroll-related accounting entries. Perform financial reconciliations including bank accounts, trade receivables, trade payables, stock records, fixed assets, and inter-branch accounts. Analyze financial statements, revenue trends, expenditures, and budgets, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Prepare and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring effective expenditure control and cost management. Review accounting records, invoices, payment schedules, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards. Oversee taxation and statutory compliance, including the preparation and filing of tax returns and other regulatory reports required by Federal, State, and Local Government authorities. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all supporting documentation, reconciliations, and financial records are readily available and compliant. Supervise and mentor the Accounts Officers, providing guidance, support, and oversight to ensure operational excellence within the Accounts function. Develop, improve, and maintain accounting systems, financial databases, and reporting processes to drive efficiency, accuracy, and business performance. Prepare management reports and ad-hoc financial analyses to support business planning, operational performance, and executive decision-making. Ensure the security and integrity of financial information, including maintaining proper records, backups, and documentation of key financial processes. Drive continuous improvement in financial controls, governance, and compliance practices while supporting the achievement of organizational goals. Perform any other finance, accounting, or business-related duties assigned by Management. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5–10 years of relevant experience: in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Financial Control, or a related function within a corporate or professional services environment. Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, CFA, or equivalent is required. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong financial accounting and reporting background. Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and other accounting software applications. Good understanding of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations. Excellent analytical, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of financial data. Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
