The role holder will also support the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and sustainability considerations into the Bank’s risk management practices, business activities, and decision-making processes. The Operational & Sustainability Risk Officer is responsible for supporting the identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of operational and sustainability-related risks across the Bank. The role involves implementing the Bank’s operational risk management framework, monitoring key risk indicators, supporting risk assessments and incident management, and promoting effective internal controls. Key Responsibilities: & Duties Maintain accurate customer credit information on the Bank’s IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) computation tool to support proper impairment assessment of the loan portfolio. Responsible for loss incident monitoring, reporting, and management bank wide. Ensure implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework and other Board-approved Operational & Sustainability Risk Policies across the Bank. Ensure implementation and ongoing compliance with the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) in line with ISO 22301 standards. Monitor key risk trends against internal thresholds and regulatory limits, and escalate breaches as required. Develop & Implement mechanisms for early detection of risk trends and implement corrective actions. Identify, assess, analyze, and report on adverse risks across the Bank. Develop strategies for identifying prevalent risks across the Bank and report the impact of the risks to the Board and Management Risk Committees. Embed globally acceptable sustainable practices into day-to-day operations across the Bank and ensure compliance with ESG and sustainability-related regulatory requirements. Prepare and submit Adhoc, weekly, monthly, and quarterly risk and Credit Risk reports (internal and regulatory). Proactively measure and monitor identified risks using relevant tools in collaboration with Business Units. Requirements: Knowledge of ESG and sustainability risk principles and emerging regulatory requirements: will be an advantage. 3–5 years’ relevant experience: in operational risk, enterprise risk management, internal control, audit, compliance, sustainability/ESG, or a related field. Good understanding of operational risk management principles, risk assessment methodologies, internal controls, and business continuity management. Experience: within the banking or financial services industry is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
