We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Valve Technician Location: Lekki Free Zone, Ibeju Lekki - Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Reports To: Valve Plant Team Lead Job Summary The Valve Technician position performs cleaning, assembly and disassembly, maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on valves. Responsibilities: Support offshore/onshore shutdowns when required. Work closely with co-workers, management and HSE officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Responsible for repair and testing of various valves, including but not limited to ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, safety relief valves, etc. Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs. Communicate timely updates to management, co-workers, and customers to ensure timely and successful completion of job responsibilities. Conduct hydrostatic, pneumatic and seat leakage testing. Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly and testing of valves at the plant and client locations. Travel to job sites and adhere to all site safety and performance requirements. Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control standards that apply to the job. Requirements: Person Specification / Qualifications: Experience: with pressure testing and precision measuring instruments. Candidate must have a strong analytical disposition. Familiar with tools and machinery required to perform daily valve repair duties. Offshore experience: is an added advantage. Minimum of an OND / HND / B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. 3 - 7 years industrial valve repair experience. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Experience: with repairing various valves and actuators, whether pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
