We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Card Operations Officer Location: Abuja (FCT) and Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Description The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless card issuance, transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, dispute resolution, and compliance with regulatory and card scheme requirements. The ideal candidate must have 3–5 years of relevant experience: in card operations within a fintech company or a digital bank, with a solid understanding of payment card systems, transaction monitoring, switching platforms, and settlement processes. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Card Operations Officer to manage the end-to-end operations of the Bank's debit, prepaid, and other payment card services. Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of debit, prepaid, and virtual cards, including card issuance, activation, replacement, renewal, blocking, and closure. Monitor daily card transactions to ensure successful processing across ATMs, POS terminals, web, and mobile channels. Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new card products, system upgrades, and integrations. Investigate and resolve card transaction exceptions, failed transactions, chargebacks, reversals, and customer disputes within agreed SLAs. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements: issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), and card schemes. Ensure timely processing of card maintenance requests and customer service tickets. Support the implementation of new card products and enhancements to existing card services. Monitor card transaction performance and identify anomalies requiring immediate attention. Liaise with card processors, payment switches, card personalization vendors, and card scheme partners to resolve operational issues. Perform daily settlement and reconciliation of card transactions with payment switches, settlement banks, and card schemes. Collaborate with Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Customer Experience, and Product teams to improve card service delivery. Ensure adherence to internal controls, operational policies, and information security standards. Requirements: Experience: Experience: working with digital payment products is highly desirable. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant disciplines 3–5 years' experience: in Card Operations within a fintech company, digital bank, payment service provider (PSP), switching company, or commercial bank. Hands-on experience: managing card issuance, transaction processing, settlement, and reconciliation. Technical Requirements: The successful candidate should possess practical knowledge of: Verve, Visa, and Mastercard card products. ATM, POS, E-commerce, and Card-Not-Present (CNP) transactions. Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI (an advantage). Payment switching processes. Card Management Systems (CMS). Card transaction settlement and reconciliation. Chargeback and dispute management processes. Service Level Agreement (SLA) management. Card issuing and acquiring operations. Fraud monitoring and transaction monitoring systems. Payment gateways and digital payment infrastructure. SQL for querying transaction data (preferred). User Acceptance Testing (UAT) methodologies. Card lifecycle management.
