Strategy and Planning: Help develop a multi-year strategy and participate in its annual review, aligning it with organizational objectives and identified humanitarian issues. Contribute to planning and monitoring the implementation of the programme strategy and country office strategic priorities. Development and Reporting: Assist in identifying programme/technical funding requirements: and provide the Grants and Partnerships department with memoranda of intent. Participate in planning project submissions, reports, and requests for amendments. Assist with programmatic, technical, logistical, HR, and financial planning for proposals and reports. Coordinate with implementation teams to plan needs assessments. Review and finalise project proposals, reports, and amendment requests prior to submission to head office. Support the identification of technical, academic, and implementation partnerships. Programme Monitoring and Quality: Ensure programme relevance, quality, and consistency by embedding cross-cutting themes (environment/climate, protection, public health, market-based approaches) and multi-sectoral integration across the project cycle. Support Field Coordinators in monitoring project lifecycles and implementation timelines. Collaborate with the MEAL team on evaluation methodologies, indicator tracking, risk monitoring, and implementation of recommendations. Ensure ongoing programmes adhere to internal/contractual procedures and sustainability requirements. Compliance and Technical Accountability: Assist in identifying, monitoring, and mitigating compliance risks and breaches. Participate in rolling out internal and external programmatic frameworks and technical procedures. Support the correct application of project tools, resources, and internal accountability processes. Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building: Support teams in utilizing and disseminating SI knowledge-sharing tools. Identify areas for improvement in existing programmatic tools. Promote the accessibility and centralisation of country-office-specific tools, guides, and SOPs. Contribute to programme-based training plans and deliver technical training aligned with operational needs. Coordination and Communication: Prepare and submit a comprehensive handover report prior to the conclusion of the contract. Facilitate the smooth flow of technical and programme information across all field bases and country offices. Coordinate with Field Coordinators to align technical, programmatic, and operational considerations. Support regular internal coordination meetings between field programme teams and the coordination unit. Internal Control, Filing & Archiving: Ensure compliance, proper filing, and systematic archiving of all generated documents according to internal procedures. Fight Against Abuse & Safeguarding: Implement assigned risk mitigation measures. Foster a work environment that actively prevents misconduct and upholds SI’s ethical framework. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding abuse notifications and investigations. Partnerships: Contribute to partner audits, capacity-strengthening plans, and ongoing activity monitoring in line with defined roles. Contextual Specificities (EU SOSAN Project - Kebbi State): Propose and develop technical monitoring indicators in close collaboration with the MEAL team. Lead the multi-level fortification advocacy strategy (national, state, and grassroots), engaging regulatory bodies, Kebbi State ministries, local millers, and traders. Lead the technical design of training and demonstration modules on balanced nutrition, exclusive breastfeeding, hygiene education, and Gender Action Learning (addressing both men's and women's roles in household food/care decisions). Provide technical leadership for SI-led nutrition activities under the EU SOSAN project, maintaining technical quality across IEC materials, household training, fortification advocacy, and nutrition support groups. Support the setup, training, and sustainability of Mother-2-Mother and Father-2-Father nutrition peer support groups. Apply SI management, activity, and results monitoring tools specific to nutrition and hygiene activities. Profile & Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, Food Science, or a related field (Master’s Degree is an advantage). Professional Experience: Experience: engaging regulatory agencies, ministries, or the private sector on food fortification/safety is an advantage. Proven experience: designing and delivering nutrition/hygiene training, including Gender Action Learning or household gender approaches. 2–3 years of relevant field experience: in community nutrition, IYCF, or public health programming (ideally with an NGO or government health/nutrition service in northern Nigeria). Experience: supporting peer support groups (Mother-2-Mother, Father-2-Father, Care Groups) is an advantage. Skills & Competencies: Commitment to gender equality, inclusion, and multi-disciplinary teamwork. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and mobile data collection tools. Strong analytical, report-writing, organizational, and multitasking skills. Deep knowledge of maternal, infant, and young child nutrition, hygiene promotion, and food fortification. Strong facilitation skills with the ability to adapt technical materials for mixed-literacy audiences. Language Requirements: Fluency in Hausa is required. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Kebbi State is an advantage.
