We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Senior Accountant Location: Ikota-Ajah, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Department: Finance & Accounts Reports To: Finance Manager / Financial Controller Job Purpose To oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accuracy of financial records, support management reporting, and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Assist in preparation of annual financial statements in line with IFRS. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts. Prepare variance analysis and explain key movements to management. General Ledger & Bookkeeping: Review and post journal entries to the GL. Ensure all transactions are properly captured and classified. Perform monthly GL reconciliations: Bank, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Intercompany. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process. Prepare rolling forecasts and track actuals vs budget. Provide insights to budget owners. Tax & Compliance: Liaise with auditors during statutory and internal audits. Support preparation of CIT, VAT, WHT returns and filings with FIRS / LIRS. Ensure compliance with tax laws and other regulatory requirements. Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight: Review vendor payments and ensure 3-way match. Monitor customer collections and aging reports. Ensure proper revenue recognition. Process Improvement & Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets. Support ERP / system upgrades and reconciliations. Identify process gaps and recommend improvements in accounting systems. Other: Support special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required. Mentor and supervise junior accountants/accounts officers. Key Requirements: ACA - ICAN is required. Qualification: B.Sc in Accounting, Finance or related field. Experience: 3 years post-qualification experience: in a corporate environment. Knowledge:Strong knowledge of IFRS, FIRS regulations, and internal controls. Skills: Strong analytical skills. Competencies: Attention to detail, integrity, communication, and ability to work under deadline. Advanced Excel, ERP experience: e.g. SAP, Oracle, Sage. Must reside on the Island within close proximity to Ikota Ajah Lagos. Salary Range N400,000 - N500,000 per month.
