We are looking for: Working closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and other stakeholders, you will help shape the technical direction of our Android platform. We are seeking an experienced, innovative Android Engineer II passionate about building secure, scalable, high-performing mobile financial solutions. You will play a key role in designing and delivering mission-critical mobile applications that power financial services, digital payments, and customer experiences. Responsibilities: What will you do: Stay current with emerging Android technologies, fintech innovations, and mobile development trends, recommending improvements where appropriate. Create and maintain reusable components, libraries, documentation, and technical standards that improve development efficiency across teams. Drive technical decisions around application architecture, mobile security, scalability, performance optimization, and maintainability. Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering teams to define, architect, and deliver innovative mobile features that support digital financial products and customer experiences. Champion application security standards, including secure data storage, encryption, token-based authentication, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance requirements. Develop secure solutions for payments, transactions, wallet functionality, authentication, identity verification, and other fintech-related services. Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs, payment gateways, banking services, and third-party financial platforms. Conduct code reviews, provide technical mentorship, and promote engineering best practices across the Android team. Qualifications What you bring: Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate across Product, Design, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and Business teams. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience: integrating payment solutions, digital wallets, transaction processing systems, KYC services, financial APIs, or banking platforms. Experience: with automated testing frameworks, including unit testing, integration testing, and UI testing. Deep understanding of architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, and modular application design. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements: into scalable technical solutions. 5+ years of experience: working within FinTech, Digital Banking, Payments, Financial Services, Lending, or related domains. Strong experience: with Kotlin, Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack Components, Coroutines, and modern Android development practices. Proven experience: publishing and maintaining Android applications on the Google Play Store. Regulatory Considerations: Ensures app data handling and permissions comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. Implements mobile-application controls aligned with PCI-DSS mobile-payment requirements.
