We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Field Coordinator Location : Katsina Reporting to: Area Coordinator Proposed start date: October 2026 Job Summary We are currently recruiting an experienced Field Coordinator based in Katsina to provide strategic leadership, program delivery, operational support functions, security management, government engagement, and partnership development, ensuring sustainable and impactful humanitarian interventions. Responsibilities: Mission 1: Effectively manage and develop ACF Programming and Strategy Tasks: Programming management: Is responsible for adequacy of support to activities volumes and requirements, and coordination amongst the departments. Is accountable for proper PCM (Project Cycle Management) in line with the projects work plans through line management of the PMs (Program Managers) and under the technical guidance of the Technical Heads of Departments (HODs), for effective projects implementation Is responsible for the development of potential partnerships and alliances in the state. Is responsible to promote relevant, integrated humanitarian and recovery programming in line with country strategy- Programming development: Examine possibilities for program expansion at both geographical and sectoral dimensions. Take notice of the sectorial orientations of national strategy and understand implications for field activities. Is responsible for the coordination and integration of new program assessments and evaluation recommendations in identified areas. Collaborate with the Grants teams to design and submit high-quality project proposals and Concepts Notes aligned with ACF’s strategic goals, as well as producing quality and timely donors’ reports. Integrate contextual analysis in the APR on a monthly basis and in capitalization reports. Contributes to data collection and research, analysis of socioeconomic, humanitarian and security issues in the state to contribute to the definition of new Concept Notes and Proposals Contribute to resource mobilization efforts by identifying potential donors and advocating for support to address humanitarian and development needs. Team management: Is responsible to lead and motivate the team. Proactively refer to the coordination team in Abuja for any matter that could jeopardize the programs, operations, the funding or the security of staff and premises. Coordinate with the technical HODs for technical support and visits to the projects and ensure quality supervision and controls. Engage and follow up procurement plans and coordinate with support departments in Abuja for all needs related to supply, finance, recruitment and administration needs and processes; Actively promote the commitment to Action Against Hunger Charter, prevent power or any sort of abuses and inform the Area Coordinator in case of frauds or any abuse. Organize and lead regular team meetings; and share regular updates Work out and monitor individual action plans for team members Ensure close supervision and management of all direct reports Proactively troubleshoot operational and programmatic issues and provide anticipated solutions, in close coordination with appropriate departments at the head office Abuja and the Country Leadership Team (CLT) Stress management and conflict mitigation within the teams; Manage conflict among team members Mission 2: Safety and Security of ACF personnel and assets: Under the technical guidance of the Area Coordinator and the SSHoD, responsible for the management and decisions regarding the Security and Safety of ACF premises and staff. Briefing of all staff on security and context changes as needed. Update of security plans (procedural, Standards Operating Procedures -SOPs, health, evacuation). Development and maintenance of security network (formal/informal) at field. Support and contribute to Crisis Management Team analysis (Country Director, Deputy Country Director, Security HOD, HR HOD and HOD Logistics) for any developments on the security situation. Mission 3: Overall accountability for ACF Finance, Human Resources, and Logistics in the Field Office: Accountable / Responsible for; HR, Finance and Logistics (Supply, Procurement, Fleet and Movements) departments based in Katsina, this includes the revision of the plans and overall expenses (authorization-based on consolidated plans). Compliance of ACF policies, procedures and donor regulations applicable to field activities. The weekly base coordination meetings and the promotion of departments level coordination. Defining and supporting HR needs, contribute to recruitments in support to the HR Manager and ensure it is carried out with applicable policies, procedures and in accordance with regulations and national labor laws; Mission 4: Field representation of ACF and adherence to Mandate and Charter / Principles: Responsible for: Development of an information (formal/informal) network. The promotion and advocacy for the respect of humanitarian principles by all stakeholders. The representation of ACF in Katsina under the technical guidance of Area Coordinator to ensure common ACF positioning and influence on humanitarian issues. Training and adherence to humanitarian principles and CHS by ACF staff. Ensuring compliance with national laws, regulations and best practices. Proactively participate in all coordination mechanisms, including sector level coordination (Nutrition, FSL, WASH, etc.). Mission 5: Manage and support to local implementing partner (s) Tasks: Contributes to local partner selection process i.e. due diligence at the state. Support partners’ management and capacity building; Accountable for the implementation of the partners’ training plans Coordination with contracted implementing partners for the concerned projects in the state Ensure coordination, anticipated issues, and resolve problems and blockages related to partnership; Identification of humanitarian and technical training needs. Is responsible for the mapping of the partners operating in the state. Mission 6: Ensure reporting, capitalization and contribute to quality and accountability; Compile all documents dealing with the essential techniques and methodologies involved in the project (including, when appropriate, the list of beneficiaries and distribution etc..) for capitalization and audit purposes; Ensure that the monthly activity report is properly documented; Implement the recommendations made as a result of internal and external assessments, visit report, in the context of a specific work plan (quality control); Review contractual donors reports before sending them to grants team and coordinating office in Abuja Ensure effective complaint mechanisms and responses is in place Providing the CLT with all relevant reporting documents requested from the field in collaboration with Program Managers. Initiate any relevant survey at required time of the different programs; Additional Responsibilities: This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned task. Maintenance of high technical standards. Conduct all duties in a professional manner following ACF Nigeria mission staff regulations, ACF mandate and charter including promotion of gender equality. Position Requirements: Education: & Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience: with INGOs in insecure contexts; previous ACF emergency / post-emergency experience: is an asset. Degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, International Development, Humanitarian Response, or a related field. Leadership & Team Management: Ability to organize, train, motivate, and manage large multicultural teams. Promotes collaboration and drives collective efficiency toward common objectives. Communication & Negotiation: Excellent communication, diplomacy, and negotiation skills. Proven ability to prepare for and successfully conduct complex negotiations.
