We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Truck Driver Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary Perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Safely transport goods to stores and customers of the distribution trucking company. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including weekends on a regular basis Inspect truck for defects before, during and after trips; submits report indicating truck condition. Unload merchandise at store. Commit to providing customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome, important and appreciated Adhere to all federal, state, corporate and departmental safety standards. Drive truck to deliver goods to stores and other customers. Pick up goods at vendor locations (backhauls) and verifies products and quantities as loaded. Weigh load. Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs Key Performance Indicators Volume of damaged goods upon arrival as against total goods upon arrival Truck Utilization rate- Truck mileage compared to average mileage of all trucks Truck Downtime- Number of times a truck is broken-down for repairs per quarter Fuel Efficiency ratio- Distance covered per month over volume of diesel consumed against target On time Delivery- Time taken for Truck to get to destination as against arrival time budgeted. Education: and Work Experience: Desired Previous Job Experience. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to travel independently Familiarity with trucking terms and processes. Must meet all Federal Department of Transportation physical requirements: of a Class A CDL driver. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Minimum 21 years of age Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form One year’s Tractor / Trailer driving experience: Valid Commercial Class A driver’s license.
