Senior Admissions Officer Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience: 10 - 12 years Location Lagos Job Field Administration / Facilities Role Summary The Senior Admissions Officer will support the effective administration and coordination of the University's admissions processes, from prospective student engagement and application processing through to admission, enrolment, and onboarding. The successful candidate will serve as an important point of contact for prospective students,applicants, academic departments, and other stakeholders. The role requires excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple admissions activities within established timelines. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and administer the University's undergraduate and/or postgraduate admissions processes in line with approved policies and procedures. Review and process applications, ensuring that applicants meet stipulated admission requirements. Verify application documents and maintain accurate and up-to-date admissions records. Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries from prospective students, applicants, parents, agents, and other stakeholders. Provide prospective students with accurate information regarding programmes, admission requirements, application procedures, deadlines, fees, and other relevant matters. Coordinate admission interviews, assessments, screening exercises, and other related activities. Prepare admission recommendations, offer letters, correspondence, and other admissions documentation. Follow up with applicants throughout the admissions cycle to improve application completion and conversion rates. Maintain accurate data on applications, offers, acceptances, enrolment, and other admissions metrics. Work closely with academic departments, Registry, Finance, Marketing, Student Affairs, and other relevant units to ensure a seamless admissions and enrolment process. Support student recruitment activities, open days, school visits, fairs, exhibitions, webinars, and other outreach initiatives. Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving student recruitment, applicant experience, yield, and enrolment conversion. Support the development and implementation of admissions campaigns and recruitment strategies. Maintain appropriate relationships with schools, educational consultants, corporate organisations, professional bodies, and other recruitment partners. Prepare regular reports and dashboards on admissions activities, trends, targets, and performance. Ensure compliance with University policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices relating to admissions and student records. Identify opportunities to improve admissions processes, systems, turnaround times, and the overall applicant experience. Provide guidance and support to junior admissions staff where required. Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Head/Director of Admissions. Key Performance Areas The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to: Achievement of student recruitment and admissions targets. Application-to-admission and admission-to-enrolment conversion rates. Timely and accurate processing of applications. Quality of applicant engagement and customer service. Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, Humanities, Marketing, or a related discipline from a recognised institution. 10 - 12years' relevant experience: in admissions, student recruitment, student affairs, education: administration, customer experience, or a related field, preferably within a university or higher education: environment. Experience: managing the admissions lifecycle and working with student information or admissions management systems. Experience: in student recruitment, engagement, conversion, or outreach will be an added advantage. Membership of a relevant professional body or a postgraduate qualification will be an advantage. Required Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of admissions and student recruitment processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills. Excellent customer service and stakeholder-management abilities. Strong administrative and organisational skills.
