Account Officer Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience: 2 - 5 years Location Lagos Job Field Finance / Accounting / Audit Salary Range ₦150,000 - ₦200,000/month The ideal candidate should have 2 -5 years’ experience. The role requires that candidate ensures timely payments, accurate accounting, and reconciliation for all expenditures through close working relationship with the relevant parties in compliance with Company approved approval limits. Operational Responsibilities: Ensure all petty cash disbursements are in compliance with company policy & authorization limits. Process bills and suppliers’ invoices and ensure compliances/approval have been obtained before payment. Charge expenses to accounts and cost centre by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries. Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying tax identification numbers, scheduling payments, resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation. Ensure tax compliance in transactions processing on daily transactions. Disbursement and monitoring of cash advances/IOUs to Staff. Maintain, manage & update transaction posting in bank management and payables modules ofSage. Daily cash count and preparation of cash position. Maintain an effective & efficient filling system (corporate files & transaction files). Assist with period-end ledger closing through call-up & reconciliation of general ledger balances. Daily reconciliation of petty cash account. Monthly reconciliation of other balance sheet accounts. Track all direct credits to the various bank accounts to ensure value is promptly received. Ensure monthly bank reconciliations for all banks.
