Mechanical Packaging Engineer at Siperco Nigeria Limited ⏲ Jul 31, 2026, 12:15 PM ⋕ View all Manufacturing & Production jobs Siperco Nigeria Limited is currently recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below: Job Title: Mechanical Packaging Engineer Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Overall Purpose of the Role The Mechanical Packaging Engineer is responsible for the engineering, integration, procurement support, inspection, installation, and commissioning of packaged mechanical equipment for oil and gas facilities. The role ensures that all packaged units are designed, manufactured, tested, and delivered in compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements: while meeting safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives. Key Responsibilities: Provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing. Resolve engineering and operational issues during project execution. Review vendor proposals and perform technical bid evaluations. Support troubleshooting, reliability improvement, and optimization of packaged equipment. Ensure documentation, vendor manuals, spare parts lists, and as-built drawings are complete before handover. Develop technical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for packaged mechanical equipment. Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, design reviews, model reviews, constructability reviews, and technical workshops. Interface with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, and Procurement teams to ensure seamless package integration. Ensure all packaged equipment complies with project specifications, client requirements, and international codes. Coordinate the engineering, design, fabrication, inspection, testing, and delivery of packaged equipment. Review vendor drawings, calculations, GA drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, 3D models, and equipment layouts. Support procurement activities by preparing technical clarifications and evaluating supplier capabilities. Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and industry best practices. Monitor vendor engineering progress and resolve technical issues during package development. Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), performance tests, and pre-shipment inspections. Typical Packaged Equipment The successful candidate should have experience: with one or more of the following: Fuel Gas Conditioning Skids Pig Launcher/Receiver Packages Water Treatment Packages Utility Packages Fire Water Pump Packages Boiler Packages Metering Skids Nitrogen Generation Packages Air Compressor Packages Chemical Injection Packages Lube Oil Systems Hydraulic Power Units (HPU) Diesel Generator Packages Modular Skid Packages Flare Packages Seal Gas Systems Instrument Air Packages Pump Packages Cooling Water Packages Gas Compression Packages Qualifications Proven experience: with packaged equipment engineering and vendor management. 7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience: in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Refinery, Gas Processing, or EPC industry. Hands-on experience: supporting construction, commissioning, and start-up activities is an advantage. COREN registration or eligibility is an added advantage. Experience: on greenfield, brownfield, EPC, EPIC, or FEED projects is highly desirable. Oil & Gas Experience. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Membership of NSE, ASME, or other relevant professional bodies is desirable.
