The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and production machinery. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment to ensure maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and minimal production downtime. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery and mechanical equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in manufacturing equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and other mechanical systems. Carry out routine inspections to identify potential equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Install, commission, and maintain mechanical equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability. Collaborate with Production, Electrical Maintenance, and Engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime. Analyze equipment failures and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with company maintenance procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations. Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and equipment history. Monitor spare parts usage and recommend inventory requirements. Supervise contractors and technicians during maintenance projects where necessary. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor\'s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 5 years\' relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within an automobile manufacturing company, industrial plant, or heavy manufacturing environment. Practical hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance is mandatory. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, and industrial machinery. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, engineering diagrams, and technical manuals. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) or COREN registration will be an added advantage.
