The role involves conducting safety inspections, enforcing compliance with fire and safety regulations, coordinating emergency preparedness activities, investigating incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Fire Safety Management: Develop, implement, and maintain fire prevention and fire protection programs. Coordinate routine fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises. Ensure firefighting equipment is serviced and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements. Conduct regular inspections of fire extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, sprinkler systems, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and other firefighting equipment. Investigate fire incidents and recommend preventive and corrective actions. Occupational Health and Safety: Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and risk assessments. Identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures. Promote safe work practices across all departments. Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and statutory safety regulations. Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health, safety, environmental, and fire safety legislation. Maintain all required safety permits, inspection records, and statutory documentation. Monitor corrective actions arising from audits and inspections. Support internal and external HSE audits and regulatory inspections. Training and Awareness: Deliver toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns. Organize periodic fire safety and emergency response training. Conduct safety induction training for new employees and contractors. Educate employees on emergency procedures and safe work practices. Incident Management: Investigate accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions. Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety statistics. Prepare investigation reports with root cause analysis and recommendations. Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Emergency Preparedness: Coordinate emergency response activities. Participate in business continuity and emergency planning activities. Ensure emergency exits and evacuation routes remain accessible. Serve as a member or coordinator of the Emergency Response Team (ERT). Reporting and Documentation: Prepare weekly and monthly HSE performance reports. Maintain safety inspection checklists, training records, incident logs, and equipment maintenance records. Report safety performance metrics to management. Requirements: Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong knowledge of fire prevention and emergency response. Practical experience: with fire prevention systems, emergency response, and safety audits. Risk assessment and hazard identification skills. Fire safety certification is an added advantage. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct safety training and awareness. Experience: in manufacturing, industrial operations or Fire Corporation is preferred. Minimum of 5 - 8years experience: in fire safety, HSE, or industrial safety. Incident investigation and root cause analysis. Excellent report writing and documentation skills. Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline. Attention to detail. Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, ISPON, or equivalent are highly desirable. Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
