We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Facility Electrician Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers Job Type: Full-time Overview The role covers facility and oilfield-service electrical infrastructure including lighting systems, power distribution networks, generators, motors, switchgear, transformers, control panels, UPS/inverter systems, air-conditioning electrical systems, portable electrical tools, temporary power systems, and electrical safety devices. As the Facility Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and components across Geoplex Drillteq Limited's offices, bases, workshops, operational facilities, and field locations. Key Responsibilities: Ensure electrical tools, test instruments, PPE, and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, stored, safeguarded, and available; report damaged or missing tools and recommend procurement of critical spares where required Install, terminate, inspect, test, commission, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, cables, fittings, fixtures, lighting systems, distribution boards, switchgear, transformers, generators, motors, control panels, UPS/inverter systems, air-conditioning electrical systems, portable electrical tools, and facility power distribution networks in line with approved drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards. Diagnose electrical faults and malfunctions using appropriate test equipment, including multimeters, insulation testers, clamp meters, and circuit analyzers. Stay updated on electrical technologies, regulations, safety practices, and industry best practices. Identify root causes and implement timely corrective actions to restore functionality. Execute routine preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to improve reliability, reduce failures, and ensure electrical equipment remains safe, available, and fit for operation. Identify and report electrical hazards, near misses, unsafe conditions, equipment failures, power outages, and fire-related electrical risks. Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, repairs, inspections, installations, test results, materials used, spare parts consumed, job cards, daily work reports, maintenance logs, compliance checks, and updated electrical drawings or schematics. Support emergency response activities requiring electrical isolation, restoration, or technical input. Participate in training programs and provide guidance to junior electricians, helpers, or apprentices where applicable. Inspect and maintain single-phase and three-phase power systems, earthing and bonding systems, electrical panels, protective devices, emergency lighting, temporary power supplies, and power distribution equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance. Required Qualifications 2–5 years of hands-on experience: in electrical installation, facility electrical maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, or industrial electrical support. Experience: working in facility management, oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, construction, logistics, workshop, or other high-risk operational environments is an advantage. Experience: maintaining lighting systems, power distribution systems, generators, motors, control panels, UPS/inverter systems, air-conditioning electrical circuits, and electrical safety devices. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, single-line diagrams, and equipment manuals. Minimum of Trade Test, Technical Certificate, NABTEB, City & Guilds, OND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering, Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or related technical discipline.
