We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: School Chaplain Location: Abuja Job type: Full-time Position Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a strong Christian environment in which students and staff are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God, develop a sound understanding of Scripture, and live out their faith. The Abuja Campus has approximately 1,900 students and over 200 members of staff, making this a significant spiritual leadership role requiring maturity, discernment, strong leadership, and excellent interpersonal and administrative skills. The Chaplain will provide spiritual leadership and pastoral oversight for the Abuja Campus, serving as the spiritual head of both the student body and staff. Responsibilities: Planning and coordinating chapel services, prayer meetings, Bible studies, discipleship initiatives, and other spiritual programmes. Providing pastoral care, biblical counsel, encouragement, and spiritual guidance where appropriate. Working closely with school leadership to ensure that the spiritual life of the campus is consistent with the school’s vision and values. Providing spiritual direction and leadership for the campus. Overseeing the spiritual development and wellbeing of students and staff. Helping create an environment where Christian faith is not merely taught but lived and demonstrated throughout the school community. Essential Spiritual Qualifications The ideal candidate must: Possess strong Christian character, integrity, humility, and emotional and spiritual maturity. Fully embrace and uphold the Christian values, vision, doctrine, and spiritual ethos of the school and ministry. Demonstrate a genuine passion for the salvation and spiritual development of children and young people. Be deeply knowledgeable and grounded in Scripture, with the ability to teach and communicate biblical truth clearly and accurately. The Chaplain must have a genuine heart for children and young people and be deeply invested in their spiritual wellbeing. Be willing to continue learning, growing, and developing spiritually alongside the school community. Be a born-again Christian with a genuine and evident personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Demonstrate a proven gift of spiritual discernment and the maturity to exercise that discernment wisely and responsibly. Passion for Students Have a strong commitment to prayer and dependence on the Holy Spirit. The candidate should: Be approachable, compassionate, and able to build meaningful relationships with students. Understand the different spiritual and developmental needs of children and adolescents. Create and support opportunities for students to encounter God, study His Word, pray, worship, and develop a personal relationship with Christ. Be attentive to the spiritual condition of students and able to identify areas where pastoral support or intervention may be required. Have a strong desire to see students genuinely saved, discipled, and established in their faith. Spiritual Leadership of the Campus: The Chaplain will provide spiritual oversight for the entire campus community, including both students and staff. Leadership and Administrative Competence: While the primary calling of the role is spiritual, the Chaplain must also be capable of providing effective leadership and administration. The ideal candidate should preferably have: The ability to work collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, parents, and students.
