We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Head of Brokerage Location : Lagos Job Summary The Head of Brokerage will provide strategic leadership for the Company's customs brokerage operations, ensuring efficient import and export clearance, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. The role is responsible for managing brokerage teams, building strong relationships with regulatory authorities, optimizing clearance processes, and driving business growth. Key Responsibilities: Oversee customs documentation, tariff classification, valuation, duty assessment, and regulatory compliance. Monitor operational KPIs, cargo clearance timelines, and customer service performance, implementing improvements where necessary. Lead and oversee all customs brokerage operations, ensuring timely and compliant clearance of import and export shipments. Lead, mentor, and develop the Brokerage team to drive high performance and continuous improvement. Identify and mitigate compliance, operational, and commercial risks associated with brokerage activities. Collaborate with Sales, Freight Forwarding, Operations, Finance, and Customer Experience: teams to deliver seamless logistics solutions. Develop and implement brokerage strategies to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and profitability. Prepare management reports, operational analyses, and strategic recommendations to support business growth. Ensure compliance with Nigeria Customs Service regulations and other applicable trade, port, and government agency requirements. Build and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies, shipping lines, terminal operators, freight partners, and other key stakeholders. Requirements: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational excellence. Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, tariff classification, valuation, and trade compliance. Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills. Minimum of 8–10 years' experience: in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, Shipping, International Trade, or Logistics, with at least 4 years in a leadership role. Proven experience: managing customs clearance operations and engaging with regulatory authorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or ERP systems. Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Law, Economics, or a related discipline.
