The ideal candidate must have proven experience: managing fleets within a logistics, transportation, courier, delivery, or related industry and should be able to effectively manage drivers/riders, vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, documentation, and fleet performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring fleet availability, safety, efficiency, proper maintenance, cost control, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements. We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Fleet Manager to oversee and manage the company's fleet of vehicles and motorcycles used for logistics and delivery operations. Key Responsibilities: Manage relationships with mechanics, workshops, spare-parts suppliers, insurance companies, and other fleet vendors. Maintain an up-to-date fleet inventory and ensure accountability for all company vehicles and motorcycles. Monitor driver and rider compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and traffic regulations. Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, inspections, and maintenance with approved vendors and mechanics. Track fleet-related expenses and ensure effective cost management. Liaise with Operations, Finance, HR, and other departments on fleet-related matters. Maintain accurate records of fuel, repairs, servicing, mileage, vehicle history, insurance, licences, and other fleet documentation. Monitor and control fuel consumption and investigate unusual or excessive fuel usage. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns and operational downtime. Ensure all vehicles and motorcycles are available, roadworthy, safe, and fit for operations. Ensure timely renewal of vehicle documents, insurance, licences, roadworthiness certificates, and other statutory requirements. Monitor vehicle and motorcycle allocation, movement, utilisation, and availability. Monitor vehicle tracking/GPS systems where applicable and identify unauthorised use or unusual vehicle movement. Implement measures to reduce vehicle downtime, accidents, misuse, theft, and unnecessary maintenance costs. Manage the day-to-day operations of the company's fleet of vehicles and motorcycles. Supervise drivers, riders, mechanics, and other fleet-related personnel. Coordinate the deployment and retrieval of vehicles and motorcycles based on operational requirements. Identify opportunities to reduce fleet operating costs while maintaining service quality and efficiency. Ensure proper handover and documentation whenever vehicles or motorcycles are assigned to staff. Investigate accidents, breakdowns, vehicle damage, losses, and other fleet-related incidents and prepare reports. Prepare regular fleet performance and management reports for management. Education: Bachelor's degree or HND in Transport Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification in Fleet Management, Logistics, Transport Management, or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage. Experience: managing drivers, riders, vehicles and/or motorcycles is required. Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience: in fleet management, preferably within a logistics, courier, transportation, delivery, or distribution company. Experience: working in a fast-paced logistics or last-mile delivery environment is highly desirable. Practical experience: in vehicle maintenance, fuel management, fleet tracking, documentation, and cost control is essential. Candidates must have direct experience: managing a fleet in a previous or current role. Experience: as a Fleet Manager, Fleet Operations Manager, Transport Manager, Logistics Manager, or a similar management position will be highly preferred. Other Requirements: Must be comfortable working with fleet records, reports, budgets, and operational data. A valid driver's licence is required; experience: riding or managing motorcycles will be an added advantage. Candidates should be able to provide evidence of relevant fleet-management experience: during the recruitment process. Must be proactive, reliable, accountable, and safety-conscious. Must demonstrate practical knowledge of fleet operations and vehicle/motorcycle maintenance. Must be willing to work flexible hours when operational requirements: demand it. Candidates who have only administrative experience: without direct fleet-management responsibility will not be considered. Must have proven experience: working in a logistics, courier, transportation, delivery, or related company. Ability to respond to fleet emergencies and operational issues promptly. Remuneration N300,000 monthly, subject to the company's applicable employment terms and benefits.
