We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Litigation Officer Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Role Purpose The role ensures compliance with legal procedures, internal policies, and regulatory requirements: while contributing to the development of sound legal strategies and risk mitigation. Responsible for supporting the effective management of litigation and investigation activities by providing legal research, preparing case documentation, and coordinating court processes to ensure timely, cost-effective resolution of disputes. Role Accountabilities Research and Preparation of legal opinions on coverage issues, liability and quantum of damages. Ensures court Attendances for motions, pre-trials and trials. Managing the litigation proceedings and filings (such as conducting internal fact investigation, preparing and filling pleadings, handling discovery, reviewing legal briefs, and preparing cases for trial and/or settlement). Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Department. Comply with Quality Management System / Occupational Health & Safety requirements: including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs. Preparation of pleadings and related materials. Carriage of and responsibility for the delivery of cost effective and efficient resolutions of disputed claims. Minimum Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of active experience: in civil and commercial litigation. Experience: specifically within the energy sector or a top-tier law firm with a power desk is a significant advantage. Admission to the Nigerian Bar (Candidate must be a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria) Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) from a recognized university.
