The role encompasses strategic oversight of well planning, field development, drilling operations, and production growth initiatives, ensuring efficient resource utilization and operational excellence. Working in close collaboration with joint-venture partners and key stakeholders, it involves conducting comprehensive risk assessments, reviewing capital investment decisions, evaluating farm-in opportunities, and applying sound technical and commercial judgment to achieve regulatory compliance, enhance project economics, and support sustainable field development across the oil and gas sector. Requirements: Educations and Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) Postgraduate qualification (MBA or MSc) is an advantage COREN registration required; membership of NSE, SPE, or NAPE is preferred Experience: Requirements: 10–15 years’ experience: in oilfield services or upstream operations Proven leadership experience: managing large-scale oil & gas service operations Strong experience: working with IOCs, OEMs, and marginal field operators Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary technical teams Skills & Competencies: Strong operational and technical leadership Vendor and contract management HSE leadership and regulatory compliance knowledge Financial and commercial awareness Project management and execution excellence Problem-solving and decision-making skills Stakeholder management and communication Process improvement and systems thinking Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Operations & Service Delivery Oversee end-to-end delivery of technical and operational services, including interventions, well engineering, O&M, rig/equipment leasing, and manpower services. Vendor & OEM Management Manage OEMs, suppliers, and SLAs to ensure cost efficiency, equipment reliability, and value delivery. Maintain strong relationships with key technical partners. HSE & Regulatory Compliance Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements, NUPRC and NCDMB regulations, and applicable industry standards across all operations. Foster and sustain a proactive safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of personnel, assets, and the environment. Drive operational excellence by embedding safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management into daily activities. Operational Efficiency & Asset Management Improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize asset utilization. Enhance equipment reliability, uptime, and resource deployment.
