Read more about this company Medical Laboratory Scientist Job Type Full Time , Onsite Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience 2 - 5 years Location Lagos Job Field Medical / Healthcare , Science We are hiring an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to support accurate, timely, and quality-driven diagnostics. This role requires strong technical competence, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The Medical Laboratory Scientist will report to the Laboratory Manager/Quality Lead and work closely with the Pathologist/Medical Director and other technical team members to ensure excellence in service delivery. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests according to approved SOPs Ensure proper sample collection handling, processing, and storage Validate results, maintain accurate documentation, and support timely reporting Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment within scope Participate in internal quality control (IQC), external quality assurance (EQA), and audits Maintain strict compliance with safety, infection prevention, and waste management protocols Support continuous improvement, turnaround time optimization, and customer satisfaction Communicate professionally with clinicians and clients regarding results and test requirements Requirements BMLS (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science Valid practicing license with the appropriate regulatory body Minimum 2 to 5 years post-qualification laboratory experience (diagnostic lab experience preferred) Strong competence in at least one core bench area (Hematology, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Histopathology, Blood Bank) Good documentation habits, attention to detail, and team collaboration Comfort with quality systems, SOP adherence, and service standards Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
