We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Procurement Officer Location: Ibeju Lekki, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The ideal candidate must have previous procurement experience: in a packaging, bottling, filling, or closely related manufacturing company. We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, spare parts, consumables, and other goods and services required for the company's operations. The candidate should have a strong understanding of industrial procurement, supplier management, cost negotiation, and timely delivery of materials to support uninterrupted production. Key Responsibilities: Track outstanding purchase orders and provide regular procurement status reports. Manage the end-to-end procurement process from requisition to delivery. Conduct supplier research, evaluation, and performance monitoring. Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favourable terms. Maintain strong and professional relationships with existing and potential suppliers. Ensure procurement activities comply with approved budgets, company policies, and procurement procedures. Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of purchased materials and equipment. Source and evaluate qualified suppliers for raw materials, packaging materials, machinery, spare parts, consumables, and other company requirements. Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Quality Control, Finance, and other departments to understand procurement requirements. Verify specifications, quantities, quality requirements, and delivery schedules before placing orders. Maintain accurate procurement records, including quotations, purchase orders, supplier information, delivery documents, and invoices. Perform other procurement-related duties assigned by management. Resolve supplier-related issues involving delays, shortages, incorrect deliveries, or quality concerns. Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, warranties, and other commercial conditions with suppliers. Support inventory planning by ensuring critical materials are procured before stock-outs occur. Assist management in developing cost-saving and supplier optimisation strategies. Monitor market prices and provide management with information on price changes, availability, and supplier conditions. Identify alternative suppliers and sourcing options to reduce procurement risks and costs. Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company procedures. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Number of successful alternative suppliers developed. Supplier delivery performance. Availability of critical production materials. Accuracy and completeness of procurement documentation. Procurement cost savings achieved. Supplier quality performance. Compliance with approved procurement procedures. Procurement cycle time. Requirements: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines. High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Experience: using ERP/procurement management systems is required or highly preferred. Proven experience: in price negotiation and cost control. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting. Mandatory previous procurement experience: in a packaging, bottling, filling, or related manufacturing company. Strong knowledge of supplier sourcing and evaluation. Good understanding of Purchase Orders, quotations, invoices, delivery notes, and other procurement documentation. HND or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting, or a related field. Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience. Excellent communication and supplier relationship-management skills. Mandatory Industry Experience: Candidates must have previous procurement experience: in at least one of the following industries: Packaging manufacturing FMCG manufacturing with significant packaging operations Plastic packaging production Filling companies Other closely related manufacturing environments Bottling companies Beverage manufacturing Candidates without relevant procurement experience: in these industries may not be considered.
