We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Chief Financial Officer Locations : Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Position Summary The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the financial strategy, governance, treasury management, financial planning, regulatory reporting, and capital management of the organization. The CFO serves as a strategic advisor to the MD and Board, providing critical financial insights that drive business performance, investment decisions, fundraising activities, and long-term shareholder value creation. The role ensures the company's financial health, sustainability, profitability, and compliance while supporting strategic growth initiatives in a PayZeep. Key Responsibilities: Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies. Evaluate product economics and revenue optimization opportunities. Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Audit functions to strengthen governance practices. Maintain a strong financial governance framework. Design and maintain robust financial controls, close processes and audit readiness (external and CBN examinations). Develop KPI dashboards and performance measurement frameworks. Lead treasury, liquidity and settlement-funding management for payment operations. Monitor capital adequacy requirements: and maintain optimal capital structure. Lead pricing, profitability, unit economics, and business performance analysis. Partner with the CEO and Board on capital structure, investor relations and M&A/partnership evaluation. Provide financial leadership during mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. Drive financial literacy and business partnering across the organization. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks. Support executive decision-making through financial insights and analytics. Own pricing, unit-economics and margin analysis across payment products. Build and lead the Finance function including Accounting, FP&A, Tax and Treasury. Oversee treasury operations, cash flow management, and liquidity planning. Ensure adequate funding for payment processing, settlement operations, and business activities. Drive operational efficiencies and cost optimization initiatives. Establish performance metrics and development plans for finance personnel Ensure timely, accurate statutory and regulatory financial reporting to the CBN, FIRS and other relevant bodies. Develop strategies to improve working capital efficiency. Coordinate external audits, regulatory reviews, and internal audit activities. Own financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning and fundraising support. Monitor financial exposures and recommend risk mitigation strategies. Manage relationships with investors, lenders, shareholders, and financial stakeholders. Prepare board reports, investor presentations, and financial performance updates. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (required). Professional accounting qualification required: ICAN, ACCA, ACA or CFA. MBA or Master's in Finance is an advantage. Experience: Total Relevant Experience: 10 -15 years Leadership / People-Management Experience: 7+ years in senior finance leadership roles, including at least 3 years as Head of Finance/Finance Director or above, with clear evidence of building and leading finance teams Fintech / Financial Services Experience: 10+ years in fintech, banking or financial-services finance leadership Skills & Competences: Fundraising, investor relations and board-level financial communication Regulatory Reporting Financial Strategy Development Tax Management Treasury & Liquidity Management Advanced financial modelling and analytical rigor Advanced Financial Modelling Corporate Finance Strong command of IFRS, statutory reporting and CBN prudential/regulatory returns Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Executive Stakeholder Management Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking Strong internal-controls and audit-management experience: IFRS Financial Reporting Data Analytics & Business Intelligence budgeting & Forecasting Capital Management Treasury and liquidity management for payment/settlement operations Regulatory Considerations (Nigeria): Accountable for timely and accurate CBN prudential returns and other statutory filings applicable to PayZeep's licence category.
