The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory and field tests on construction materials, including soil, aggregates, concrete and asphalt, to ensure that materials meet required project specifications, quality standards and applicable construction standards. Key Responsibilities: Record, compile and accurately input laboratory and field test results. Carry out concrete testing, including sampling, slump testing, cube preparation and compressive strength testing. Perform tests relating to material strength, permeability, compaction, density and acceptance. Support the calibration and verification of laboratory testing equipment. Conduct laboratory and field tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials. Conduct soil and aggregate tests, including particle-size analysis, moisture content, compaction and related tests. Conduct asphalt and bituminous material testing as required. Ensure compliance with company quality, health, safety and environmental procedures. Ensure all testing activities are carried out in accordance with applicable construction standards and approved procedures. Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory and testing environment. Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality and accuracy. Work closely with civil engineers, site engineers, quality control personnel and project teams to support construction quality assurance. Collect, prepare, label and test material samples in accordance with approved procedures and project specifications. Perform other laboratory and quality-control duties as assigned. Maintain accurate records of samples, test results, equipment usage and laboratory activities. Identify irregularities or abnormal test results and escalate technical concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Prepare laboratory test reports and communicate results to the relevant engineers and project teams. Requirements: Good knowledge of laboratory equipment operation, maintenance and calibration. Willingness to work both in the laboratory and on construction sites when required. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team. HND / B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Geosciences, Soil Science, Laboratory Technology or a related discipline. Hands-on experience: in soil, concrete, aggregate and asphalt testing is required. Must have proven working experience: in a construction laboratory or construction materials testing environment. Familiarity with relevant construction standards and testing procedures. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of construction materials testing procedures and quality-control practices. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
