We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Chief Operating Officer Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The COO will translate the company’s strategic objectives into executable operational plans, optimize processes, manage project performance, and drive operational excellence across all construction sites and support functions. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the construction firm, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, on time, within budget, and in line with regulatory and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Enforce health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across all sites. Oversee planning and execution of multiple projects, monitoring KPIs, cost, and productivity, and resolving site or contractor issues promptly. Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers and site leadership teams; manage relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulators. Lead construction operations, site management, procurement, logistics, and project delivery teams, ensuring smooth coordination across engineering, finance, HR, and supply chain. Drive process improvements and operational systems to boost productivity and reduce waste. Support the CEO on strategic initiatives, business expansion, bidding, and risk mitigation. Develop and manage operational budgets with the CEO and Finance team, driving cost efficiency without compromising safety or quality. Qualifications & Requirements: At least 4–6 years in a senior operational or leadership role (e.g., Operations Manager, Project Director, Deputy COO). Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA, MSc) is an added advantage. Proven experience: managing multiple construction projects and large operational teams. Minimum of 10–15 years progressive experience: in the construction industry. Skills & Competencies: Excellent financial acumen, budgeting, and cost-control skills. Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in fast-paced environments. Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Deep understanding of construction processes, contracts, and site operations.
