The GCSRO will serve as the principal adviser to the Group Managing Director, Executive Management and Board on enterprise security risks, protecting the Group’s people, assets, information, operations and reputation across all business units and operating locations. Our client, a diversified industrial group with operations across steel manufacturing, mining, energy and oil & gas, is seeking an experienced Group Chief Security & Resilience Officer (GCSRO) to provide strategic leadership for the Group’s security, investigations, crisis management and business resilience functions. Key Responsibilities: Security Strategy & Governance: Develop and implement the Group’s security and resilience strategy, policies, risk framework and performance standards, advising the GMD, ExCo and Board on emerging security risks. Site & Industrial Security: Oversee security across plants, mine sites, energy facilities and oil & gas operations, covering access control, surveillance, perimeter protection, guarding, counter-sabotage and critical infrastructure protection. Investigations & Intelligence: Lead security investigations, threat intelligence, vulnerability assessments and responses to theft, sabotage, workplace violence, security breaches and other security incidents. Crisis Management & Resilience: Develop and test crisis management, emergency response and business continuity frameworks, leading/coordinating responses to major security or operational incidents. Leadership & Capability Development: Lead and develop the Group security function, including SBU security teams, investigations, executive protection and crisis management, with responsibility for performance, capability building and succession planning. Cargo & Supply Chain Security: Establish and oversee protocols for protecting raw materials, finished goods and high-value equipment in transit and storage, including tracking, escorts, route-risk assessment and loss prevention. Board Reporting & Stakeholder Management: Provide regular security, risk and resilience reports to the Board, ExCo and Audit/Risk Committee while maintaining relationships with insurers, regulators and industry bodies. Executive & External Security: Oversee executive protection and manage relationships with contracted security providers, Police, Military, NSCDC, regulators, host communities and other relevant stakeholders. Key Requirements: Strong Board and Executive Management engagement experience. Experience: managing contracted security providers and working with government security agencies. Proven ability to build and lead high-performing security teams. Strong experience: in threat assessment, counter-sabotage, loss prevention and security risk management. HND / B.Sc. in Security Management, Criminology, Law, Military/Police Studies or a related discipline with 15 – 20 years progressive experience: in security, law enforcement, military or intelligence, with at least 5 years in a senior/group security leadership position. Demonstrated experience: in industrial/site security, investigations, crisis management, emergency response and business continuity. Proven experience: leading multi-site or multi-entity security operations, preferably within a conglomerate, holding company or diversified industrial environment. Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Certifications in crisis management, business continuity, emergency management or investigations such as MBCI, CBCP or CFE. Experience: operating in remote or higher-risk environments. Military, law enforcement or intelligence background. Executive/VIP protection experience. CPP/PSP (ASIS International) or equivalent professional security certification. Experience: in steel, mining, oil & gas, energy or manufacturing security. Experience: in cargo/supply-chain security and loss prevention. Master’s degree / MBA in a relevant discipline.
