The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial transactions through daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations. You will identify variances, investigate discrepancies, and liaise with internal teams and external institutions to ensure seamless resolution. Key Responsibilities: Perform daily reconciliation of bank statements, core banking/system transaction logs, clearing accounts, and third-party payment gateway feeds (e.g., NIBSS, Interswitch, Remita, card processors). Identify, track, and investigate transaction variances, un-cleared items, outstanding items, and unexplained ledger differences. Maintain an updated reconciliation exception log, driving timely resolution with relevant internal departments, correspondent banks, or switching platforms. Monitor general ledger (GL) suspense and clearing accounts to prevent long-outstanding balances and ensure zero revenue leakage. Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation status reports to management and regulatory control functions. Continuously assess reconciliation workflows and recommend automated or streamlined processes to mitigate operational risks. Assist internal/external auditors and regulatory compliance officers during routine examinations by providing requested reconciliation files and documentation. Requirements: & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking & Finance, or a related discipline. Minimum of 2–4 years of proven experience: as a Reconciliation Officer, Settlement Officer, or FinTech/Banking Operations Officer. Proficiency in core banking applications (CBAs) or ERP systems. Strong mastery of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, advanced formulas). Familiarity with electronic settlement channels, card processing, and NIBSS instant payment (NIP) clearing processes. ACCA, ACA, or CIBN certification (or in progress) is an added advantage. Key Competencies Exceptional analytical, numeric, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and zero tolerance for unresolved ledger variances. Strong communication skills for cross-departmental coordination and bank liaisons. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight daily operational cut-off times.
