Our Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) division manages a growing portfolio of residential estates, institutional buildings, industrial parks, and road infrastructure projects across multiple states. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Highway Engineer Location: Abuja (FCT) Key Responsibilities: Plan, supervise and coordinate highway and road construction activities from mobilisation through completion. Review technical drawings, specifications, construction methodologies and work programmes. Ensure compliance with applicable HSE requirements: throughout construction activities. Identify technical challenges, site constraints and potential delays and recommend practical solutions. Support project testing, commissioning, snagging, completion and handover. Perform any other duties assigned by Management. Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly technical progress reports. Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the quality and progress of road construction works. Ensure appropriate testing and quality control of soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and other road construction materials. Review contractors' work and ensure compliance with approved construction standards. Monitor construction productivity and recommend measures to improve project delivery. Supervise road works including earthworks, subgrade preparation, sub-base, base course, asphalt works, drainage, culverts and associated structures. Monitor levels, alignment, gradients, compaction and pavement thickness in accordance with approved specifications. Monitor construction activities against approved work programmes, milestones and completion dates. Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Surveyors, consultants, contractors and other technical teams. Ensure proper documentation of site instructions, inspections, testing, variations and technical issues. Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and applicable standards. Support the preparation and implementation of recovery programmes where project activities fall behind schedule. Monitor the proper use and availability of construction materials, equipment, manpower and other resources. Coordinate with the PMO to ensure project progress is accurately reported.
