We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Material Purchaser Location: Ikom, Cross River Employment Type: Full-time Job Description The ideal candidate must possess strong negotiation skills, market awareness, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers while ensuring a consistent supply of quality materials. We are seeking a smart, energetic, and result-oriented Material Purchaser to source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, particularly PET bottles and used sacks, for the company's recycling operations. Responsibilities: Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. Represent the company professionally during field operations and supplier engagements. Conduct regular market surveys to monitor raw material availability and pricing. Negotiate competitive prices while maintaining quality standards. Source and purchase PET bottles, used sacks, and other recyclable raw materials. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly purchasing reports. Identify and develop new suppliers, collectors, and collection centers. Verify the quality and quantity of purchased materials before acceptance. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to meet production demands. Requirements: Experience: in recycling, waste management, manufacturing, or raw material sourcing will be an added advantage. Basic computer knowledge is an added advantage. Bachelor's Degree / HND or equivalent qualification. Must possess good negotiation and relationship management skills. Good knowledge of local markets and recyclable material sourcing is an added advantage. Ability to communicate effectively in English; additional local languages will be an advantage. Must be honest, hardworking, and self-motivated. Ability to travel frequently within assigned locations. Must be punctual, disciplined, and result-oriented. Strong negotiation and persuasion skills. Good record-keeping and reporting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Additional qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields will be an added advantage. Ability to work independently and meet procurement targets.
