We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Mechanical Marine & Lifting Equipment Engineer Location: Lagos Job Type: Contract Main Functions The role will ensure equipment reliability, safety, compliance and availability in line with company and statutory standards. The Mechanical, Marine & Lifting Equipment Engineer will provide technical support, maintenance and engineering expertise for marine, lifting and mechanical static equipment across offshore and onshore operations. Tasks and Responsibilities: Troubleshoot technical problems and follow up on equipment repairs, corrective actions, warranty claims, and contractor activities. Ensure all activities comply with Company HSE standards, statutory regulations, and safe working practices. Support warehouse/material inspections and ensure equipment and spare parts are properly stored and maintained. Identify and specify required spare parts, tools, materials, manpower, and services and support their procurement and offshore mobilization. Comply with all Company HSE policies, procedures, and statutory requirements. Coordinate technical support for cranes, lifeboats, marine equipment, offloading hoses, buoys, and other lifting-related systems. Prepare technical reports and provide regular updates on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and technical issues. Review equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs), spare parts requirements, and maintenance data in SAP or other computerized maintenance systems. Promote safe working practices and ensure personnel under supervision understand their HSE responsibilities. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and operational risks promptly. Provide technical support to offshore operations and maintenance teams on marine and lifting equipment. Monitor equipment performance, reliability, and condition, and recommend corrective or improvement actions. Monitor spare parts and consumables and take appropriate action to prevent shortages. Support the development, review, and implementation of maintenance plans for marine, lifting, crane, lifeboat, and related mechanical equipment. Maintain a strong safety culture across offshore and onshore activities. Provide technical input into equipment upgrades, modifications, projects, and improvement initiatives. Develop and review maintenance, inspection, testing, and work procedures in line with applicable regulations, OEM recommendations, and industry best practices. Visit offshore locations as required and provide hands-on technical support during major operations. Ensure marine and lifting equipment are properly inspected, tested, certified, and maintained in accordance with statutory and company requirements. Liaise with equipment manufacturers/OEMs, contractors, vendors, and third-party inspection bodies. Support major maintenance activities, shutdowns, overhauls, inspections, and heavy lifting operations. Job Requirements: Good command of written and spoken English. Professional qualification as a chief engineer or equivalent is an advantage. Experience: in offshore oil & gas operations is highly desirable. Experience: working with OEMs, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. Minimum of 15 years' relevant experience: in mechanical, marine, offshore, or lifting equipment engineering.
