Job Title: Finance Officer Location: Maiduguri, Borno Job type: Full-time Responsibilities: Duties and Responsibility: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of transactions Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Process accounts payable and receivable Monitor bank transactions and reconcile bank statements Support in budgeting and forecasting process Ensure compliance with financial regulations, Donor and internal policies Assist in internal and external audits. Prepare tax returns and ensure timely filing of tax and statutory obligations Analyze financial data and provide insights to Finance Manager Contribute to financial risk management strategies. Other Responsibilities: as assigned by the Line supervisor. Requirements: Relevant academic background in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is an advantage. Minimum of 3 Years experience: in finance or any related field. Strong finance and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and support sound financial decisions. Competence in preparing and reviewing financial statements and financial reporting in a structured, compliant manner. Effective communication skills for collaborating with program teams, management, and external stakeholders. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, especially Quick book and Excel. Experience: working with nonprofit or project-based funding environments is beneficial. Demonstrated attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work independently. Own a working laptop. Desirable skills: A demonstrated ability to multi-task and process information into action in a timely manner Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and either Kanuri or Hausa. Interpersonal Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships and maintaining effective communication with diverse community groups and stakeholders. Presentation Skills: Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage and captivate an audience. Organizational Competence: Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
