We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Supervisor, Technical Maintenance (Cold Chain) Location: Ibadan, Oyo Job Context The Refrigerator & Air Conditioning Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems used in our cold chain logistics operations. This role ensures that all equipment is operating efficiently and in compliance with industry standards and regulations to maintain the integrity of the cold chain. Key Performance Areas (KPAs) Maintenance oversight: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in refrigeration units and cooling system of cold-chain trucks Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities. Schedule and perform regular maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance. Temperature Control & Monitoring: Implement corrective actions to maintain optimal temperature control Monitoring and controlling the temperature and humidity levels in storage facilities once they return from a trip to ensure they meet the required standards. Managing a temperature monitoring system to track conditions in real-time Identify and troubleshoot any temperature fluctuations that could compromise product integrity Monitor and maintain consistent and appropriate temperatures within cold-chain transportation vehicles Compliance and Safety: Keeping up to date with changes in regulations and best practices in cold chain management. Ensuring that all refrigeration and air conditioning trucks comply with health and safety regulations, as well as industry standards. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed reports on maintenance schedules, repairs, and system performance. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and repair activities. Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager on the status of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Energy Efficiency: Implementing energy-saving measures to reduce operational costs. Identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency in the refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Additional Responsibilities: Continuously improve cold-chain procedures to enhance efficiency and minimize product spoilage. Collaborate with other departments within the cold-chain logistics operation (e.g., warehouse, transportation) to ensure seamless coordination. Stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in cold-chain refrigeration technology. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or any other related field. Skills and Experience: Required: Understanding of customer and vehicle manufacturer specifications Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment Experience: with spare parts inventory management.
