The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring overdue accounts, communicating with delinquent customers, negotiating repayment arrangements, conducting field recovery activities where necessary, and escalating high-risk accounts for further action. The Key Requirements: Credit Management: Ensure proper reconciliation and accuracy of credit and recovery records. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of recovery activities, customer commitments, and payments. Identify trends in loan defaults and recommend strategies to improve recovery rates and reduce future delinquencies. Monitor and manage overdue and delinquent loan accounts across assigned customer portfolios. Work closely with the Credit, Sales, Finance, and Legal teams to resolve delinquent accounts. Negotiate repayment plans, settlements, and restructuring arrangements with delinquent customers. Conduct field visits and other recovery activities as required. Collaborate with the Legal team on escalated recovery actions, including litigation and repossession where necessary. Provide recommendations on effective recovery strategies for difficult accounts. Contact customers by phone, email, and physical visits to follow up on outstanding loan repayments. Analyze portfolio trends and recommend measures to improve repayment performance and reduce losses. Prepare regular recovery reports and provide updates on portfolio performance. Track customer commitments and ensure agreed repayment plans are followed. Identify high-risk and difficult accounts and escalate them appropriately. Ensure all recovery activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical collection practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 2 – 5 years of relevant experience: in credit recovery, debt collection, credit control, or loan recovery within the financial services sector is mandatory. Strong documentation and record-keeping skills. Knowledge of applicable debt recovery regulations and compliance requirements. High level of integrity, professionalism, persistence, and attention to detail. Good knowledge of credit, loan management, and debt recovery processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proven experience: managing delinquent loan accounts and developing effective repayment plans. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Must have completed NYSC. Ability to work independently, meet recovery targets, and manage multiple accounts effectively. Ability to analyze customer repayment patterns and develop data-driven recovery strategies.
