We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Woodworker Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT) Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality carpentry and woodwork while ensuring that all work is completed safely, accurately, and within the required timelines. We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Woodworker to handle the construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of wooden structures, furniture, fixtures, and fittings across the company's properties and construction sites. Key Responsibilities: Carpentry and Woodwork: Carry out repairs and modifications to existing wooden structures and furniture. Interpret basic drawings, measurements, and specifications to execute assigned work accurately. Construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, furniture, fixtures, and fittings. Carry out carpentry work for doors, cabinets, wardrobes, shelves, tables, chairs, partitions, ceilings, and other wooden installations. Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and finish wood and other related materials. Maintenance and Repairs: Respond promptly to carpentry-related maintenance requests. Replace damaged or worn-out components where necessary. Repair damaged doors, cabinets, furniture, shelves, wardrobes, and other wooden fittings. Inspect wooden fixtures and structures regularly to identify damage, wear, or defects. Installation and Finishing: Install doors, frames, cabinets, wardrobes, shelves, partitions, and other wooden fittings. Ensure proper alignment, measurements, fitting, and finishing of all completed work. Ensure completed work meets the company's expected quality standards. Carry out sanding, polishing, painting, varnishing, and other finishing work where required. Tools and Materials Management: Safely operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment. Monitor the availability of wood, hardware, fittings, adhesives, and other required materials. Report damaged, missing, or inadequate tools and materials promptly. Ensure all tools are properly stored after use. Minimize material wastage and use resources efficiently. Site Coordination: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Work closely with site and maintenance supervisors to ensure projects are completed according to specifications. Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, painters, masons, and other maintenance personnel when work requires collaboration. Health and Safety: Report hazards, accidents, damaged equipment, and unsafe working conditions immediately. Use appropriate PPE when carrying out assigned tasks. Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures. Ensure tools and equipment are used safely. Maintain good housekeeping around the work area. Documentation and Reporting: Provide updates on assigned jobs and completed work. Report outstanding tasks, material requirements, and challenges to the supervisor. Maintain accurate records of materials used where required. Other Duties: Perform other carpentry, maintenance, and woodwork-related duties reasonably assigned by Management. Performance Expectation The Woodwork is expected to consistently deliver high-quality, durable, and properly finished woodwork, respond promptly to maintenance requests, maintain company tools and materials responsibly, and comply fully with CasaLavoro Limited's Standards of Values (SOVs), safety requirements, and operational procedures. Requirements: Knowledge of different types of wood and appropriate applications. Ability to take accurate measurements and interpret basic drawings. Good physical fitness and ability to work in different environments. Trade certification or technical qualification in Carpentry, Woodwork, Furniture Making, or a related field is an advantage. Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team. Ability to construct, install, repair, and finish wooden structures and furniture. 2 – 5 years of relevant carpentry/woodworking experience. Must demonstrate punctuality, reliability, discipline, and a strong work ethic. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Proven practical experience: in residential, commercial, or construction carpentry. Good knowledge of woodworking tools, materials, and techniques. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
