Read more about this company Head, Transport and Distribution Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience 8 - 10 years Location Lagos Job Field Logistics Key Areas of Responsibilities Plan, coordinate and supervise all distribution and transportation activities across the Company's operations. Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products while maintaining high customer service standards. Manage fleet utilization, vehicle maintenance, routing, and transportation efficiency Monitor transportation costs and implement cost-saving initiatives. Ensure compliance with HSE policies, statutory regulations, and company procedures. Supervise distribution personnel and monitor performance against KPIs. Coordinate with Operations, Sales, Procurement, and Maintenance to ensure uninterrupted product availability and delivery. Prepare and submit periodic logistics and distribution performance reports to management. Qualifications and Experience B.Sc./HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Transport Management, or a related discipline. A professional certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (CILT, CIPSMN, etc.) will be an added advantage 8–10 years of relevant experience in logistics, fleet management, distribution, or supply chain operations, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial within a manufacturing, industrial gases, FMCG, oil & gas, or related industry Key Competencies: Leadership and people management Logistics and fleet management Route planning and optimization Budgeting and cost control Inventory and cylinder asset management Excellent communication and negotiation skills Analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) Strong knowledge of HSE and regulatory compliance.
