We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Accountant Locations: Abuja (FCT) and Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and professionally competent Accountant to manage the organization's accounting operations, financial records, reporting, reconciliations, controls and statutory financial obligations. The successful candidate will support management with accurate financial information and ensure that accounting activities are performed in accordance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements: and internal financial policies. Key Responsibilities: Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, financial institutions and regulatory bodies when required. Maintain accurate and complete books of accounts and accounting records. Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes. Ensure proper application of accounting policies and procedures. Support annual audit and financial review processes. Maintain accurate general ledger postings and supporting schedules. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information. Strengthen internal financial controls and identify financial control weaknesses. Support tax computations, filings and statutory financial obligations. Assist with payroll-related accounting activities. Monitor financial transactions for accuracy, completeness and compliance. Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Perform bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations. Monitor cash flow, income and expenditure. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports. Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations. Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets. Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective measures. Prepare invoices, payment schedules, receipts and supporting financial documentation. Qualifications and Professional Requirements: ICAN qualification/part-qualification is strongly preferred, with full professional qualification particularly desirable for senior accounting roles. Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo, SAP or similar platforms. ACCA qualification/part-qualification is an added advantage. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline. Working knowledge of Nigerian tax and statutory requirements. High level of integrity and financial confidentiality. Minimum 2–5 years' relevant accounting experience: depending on level. ICAN's professional route accepts relevant university degrees / HND qualifications and provides professional certification pathways. Preferred Qualificational Requirements: ANAN CFA — particularly for investment/financial-analysis roles CIMA ACA/ICAN Relevant tax professional qualification where applicable.
