We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Production Manager - Water Location: Imo Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary This is an excellent opportunity for a production professional who enjoys building systems, developing people and contributing to the growth of a new manufacturing business. The role requires a hands-on leader capable of establishing production systems, managing people, ensuring equipment availability, reducing wastage, improving productivity and supporting the company's business growth objectives. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Manager to lead our production operations, establish world-class manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement across the factory. The Production Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the entire manufacturing process of Dezzy Fountain Water. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and supervising all production activities to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, cost-effectively and in compliance with NAFDAC, SON, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning & Operations: Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery and materials. Plan and coordinate daily, weekly and monthly production activities. Coordinate all production shifts for maximum efficiency. Monitor production output and ensure production targets are achieved. Ensure uninterrupted production of bottled and sachet water. Minimize production downtime and eliminate operational bottlenecks. Develop production schedules based on customer demand. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production process. Plant Management: Oversee the daily operations of the entire production facility. Monitor utility systems including water treatment, generators, compressors and production machinery. Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Ensure proper housekeeping throughout the factory. Recommend equipment upgrades and replacement where necessary. Ensure all production equipment operates at optimum efficiency. Quality Management: Monitor production processes to reduce product defects and wastage. Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Work closely with the Quality Control Officer to maintain product quality. Investigate quality complaints and implement corrective actions. Ensure complete product traceability through proper documentation. Ensure all products meet NAFDAC, SON and company quality standards. People Management: Conduct regular toolbox meetings and staff briefings. Supervise and develop production employees. Allocate duties and monitor employee performance. Identify training needs and recommend capacity-building programmes. Coach and mentor machine operators and production staff. Foster teamwork, discipline and accountability. Inventory & Materials Management: Ensure availability of production materials. Coordinate with procurement and stores to prevent stock-outs. Monitor inventory usage against production output. Monitor raw material consumption. Reduce wastage of PET preforms, caps, labels, packaging materials and chemicals. Health, Safety & Environment: Investigate accidents and implement preventive measures. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Promote a strong safety culture within the factory. Ensure employees properly use PPE. Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic production environment. Conduct routine safety inspections. Compliance: Maintain proper production records and documentation. Ensure compliance with NAFDAC regulations. Support regulatory inspections and audits. Ensure adherence to SON specifications. Ensure all statutory production records are maintained. Production cost per unit Machine downtime Labour productivity Plant efficiency Daily production target achievement Accident frequency rate Qualifications Applicants should possess: Bachelor's Degree or HND in Food Science, Industrial Chemistry, Production Engineering or related discipline. Professional certifications in Production Management, Quality Management or Health & Safety will be an added advantage. Experience: At least 1years in a supervisory or management position. Experience: working in a startup manufacturing environment is an added advantage. Experience: in bottled water, sachet water, beverage, food processing or FMCG manufacturing is highly preferred. Minimum of 3 years' experience: in manufacturing.
