We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Contract & Business Development Manager Location : Ikoyi, Lagos Job Type: Full-time Job Summary The position requires extensive experience: within the Nigerian Marine, Offshore Logistics, and Oil & Gas sectors, with demonstrated success in NipeX tendering, IOC/NNPC procurement processes, commercial negotiations, and stakeholder engagement. The Commercial Manager will lead commercial bidding activities, develop and execute market growth strategies, strengthen client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and maximise vessel utilisation and commercial performance across the fleet. To drive revenue growth, profitability, market penetration, and strategic commercial opportunities for the Company's marine and offshore services business. Key Responsibilities: Commercial Strategy & Business Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the offshore marine and oil & gas sectors. Contribute to the Company's annual business planning and revenue forecasting processes. Support fleet growth initiatives through new vessel charter opportunities and strategic partnerships. Drive market penetration with IOCs, NNPC entities, indigenous operators, EPC contractors, and marine service clients. Develop and implement commercial strategies to increase revenue, profitability, and market share. Tendering & Bid Management: Ensure all submissions are compliant with client specifications and tender requirements. Develop commercially competitive proposals and pricing strategies. Conduct commercial risk assessments and provide tender strategy recommendations to Management. Maintain visibility of upcoming bid opportunities and procurement plans. Coordinate cross-functional inputs from Operations, Finance, HSE, Crewing, and Technical departments for bid submissions. Lead end-to-end management of technical and commercial tenders through the NipeX platform and other procurement portals. Commercial Excellence & Pricing: Analyze market rates, utilization trends, operating costs, and competitor positions to optimize profitability. Develop and maintain pricing models for vessel chartering and offshore support services. Lead commercial negotiations with clients to maximize contract value and profitability. Structure charter agreements and commercial terms based on industry best practices, including BIMCO standards where applicable. Identify and secure opportunities for contract variations, extensions, and additional scope of work. Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary commercial interface for key accounts. Build and maintain strong relationships with key client decision-makers, including: NUIMS IOC Supply Chain teams Indigenous operators NCDMB NNPC entities EPC contractors NipeX Maintain accurate records of all opportunities, tenders, client interactions, and sales leads. Conduct regular client engagement visits to identify commercial opportunities and strengthen strategic partnerships. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis: Monitor market activity, industry developments, and competitor movements. Prepare periodic market intelligence reports covering: Upcoming projects Competitor positioning Industry trends Fleet requirements: Tender pipelines Recommend new service offerings and growth initiatives based on market needs. Regulatory & Commercial Compliance: Coordinate with Legal and Contract teams on key commercial risks. Support contractual reviews to ensure commercial terms are aligned with approved risk thresholds. Ensure all commercial activities align with: Company policies and governance standards NCDMB Local Content regulations NIMASA Cabotage requirements: NOGICD Act requirements: Requirements: Education: MBA or Master's degree is advantageous. Professional qualifications in Commercial Management, Procurement, Maritime, or Business Development will be an added advantage. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Maritime Studies, or related discipline. Experience: Strong network within NNPC entities, IOC procurement organizations, NCDMB, NipeX, and major offshore operators. Proven commercial negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities. 8 - 12 years of commercial and business development experience: within Marine, Offshore Logistics, Shipping, or Oil & Gas services.
