The Medical Laboratory Technician will support Medical Laboratory Scientists in the efficient delivery of laboratory services while maintaining good laboratory practice, specimen integrity, biosafety and accurate documentation. We are recruiting experienced professionals who are passionate about excellence, technology, quality, customer experience: and building efficient healthcare systems from the ground up. Responsibilities: Key responsibilities: include: Follow Good Laboratory Practice and approved Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain work benches, equipment and laboratory areas in a clean and safe condition. Assist with microbiological and other laboratory procedures within professional competence. Report equipment faults, sample problems and other nonconformities promptly. Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance. Prepare culture media and reagents where required and within scope of practice. Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct. Receive, identify, label and process laboratory specimens appropriately. Perform phlebotomy and ensure correct patient/sample identification. Maintain specimen records and laboratory documentation. Assist Medical Laboratory Scientists with routine investigations and laboratory workflows. Operate basic laboratory equipment and assist with automated analysers as authorised. Assist with inventory checks and monitoring of reagents and consumables. Comply with biosafety and infection-prevention requirements. Assist with pre-analytical laboratory procedures. Prepare samples for analysis according to approved procedures. Qualifications 2–5 years' relevant experience. Demonstrable experience: in phlebotomy is required. Valid professional licence/registration (MLSCN) to practise in Nigeria. Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice is required. Recognised qualification as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Experience: working with automated laboratory analysers is mandatory. Experience: in a medical diagnostic laboratory is required. Experience: preparing culture media and assisting with laboratory investigations is required. Skills Set: Good biosafety and infection-control practices. Familiarity with automated laboratory analysers. Good specimen collection, identification, labelling and handling skills. Good phlebotomy skills. Good communication and teamwork. Ability to work efficiently in a busy diagnostic laboratory. Good record-keeping and documentation. Ability to follow SOPs accurately. Ability to assist Medical Laboratory Scientists effectively.
