We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Cash for Asset Field Assistant Location: Jakusko, Yobe Job type: Full-time Reports to: Business Development Officer Supervises: Project Support Staff/Facilitators Job Summary The position ensures accurate attendance tracking, adherence to site safety standards, and timely compliance with WFP cash disbursement protocols. The Cash for Asset (CfA) Field Assistant supports the day-to-day community mobilization, field verification, labor management, and operational execution of Cash-for-Work/Cash-for-Assets activities under the WFP-supported Integrated Food System and Resilience Project implemented by Chabash Development and Health Initiative (CDHI) in Jakusko LGA, Yobe State. Working under the supervision of the Project Infrastructure/Structural Engineer and Project Lead, the Assistant oversees labor groups engaged in community asset creation, including land preparation, solar irrigation setup, water harvesting structures, warehouse site clearance, and facility rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities: Community Liaison & Incident Reporting: Act as an immediate point of contact between asset creation teams, Project Management Committees (PMCs), and local communities, reporting field challenges, attendance disputes, or safety incidents promptly to project leadership. Support to Vulnerable Groups: Coordinate site adjustments to accommodate vulnerable participants, ensuring appropriate work schedules, light tasks for specific labor profiles, and access to basic site amenities such as shade and clean water. Site Safety & Equipment Management: Oversee the safe distribution, proper usage, maintenance, and secure storage of tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and construction materials at field locations. Attendance Tracking & Verification: Maintain accurate, transparent daily attendance sheets, labor logs, and digital verification records to support timely and accurate cash disbursements to eligible beneficiaries. Asset Site Supervision: Provide daily field-level supervision for community labor engaged in asset creation and infrastructure works, ensuring tasks are carried out safely and according to specified technical plans. Community Mobilization & Labor Organization: Assist in mobilizing, registering, and organizing target Cash-for-Work (CfW) beneficiaries into working groups across project communities in Jakusko LGA. Qualifications and Experience: Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field. Field Competencies: Practical knowledge of community mobilization, basic labor supervision, tool management, and field data collection. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical field experience: in Cash-for-Work (CfW), Cash-for-Assets (CfA), or labor-intensive community infrastructure projects, preferably within humanitarian settings in Northeast Nigeria. Language Skills: Professional working proficiency in English and strong fluency in Hausa (knowledge of additional local languages spoken in Yobe State is highly desirable). Targeting & Protocols: Familiarity with WFP cash transfer procedures, beneficiary registration, and community-based targeting approaches. Core Competencies Ability to work effectively under outdoor field conditions and manage daily site operations in remote settings. Excellent interpersonal, community engagement, and group management skills. Strong commitment to team collaboration, fairness, and accountability. Basic computer literacy, including experience: using mobile digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, SCOPE, or smart attendance apps). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tracking attendance logs and beneficiary documentation. Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA): Routinely inform all Cash-for-Asset participants that inclusion in labor rosters, task allocations, tool distributions, and cash disbursements are completely free of charge and must never be exchanged for favors or sexual acts. Assist in maintaining safe working environments by ensuring work sites are secure, transparent, and protective of women, adolescent girls, and vulnerable community members. Strictly adhere to CDHI and WFP zero-tolerance policies regarding sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment across all labor sites and cash assistance activities. Ensure beneficiaries are fully aware of available confidential reporting channels (CRM/PSEA hotlines) to report any instances of misconduct or harassment without fear of retaliation. Compliance & Ethics: nfidentiality, data privacy, and data security for all feedback records, survivor cases, protection disclosures, and beneficiary registration data. Respect local traditional customs, religious values, and community leadership structures while upholding universal standards of human dignity, equality, and non-discrimination. Adhere strictly to core humanitarian principles, SPHERE standards, and WFP Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) guidelines during all site interactions and labor operations. Guarantee complete honesty, integrity, and non-favoritism in labor enrollment, daily attendance logging, and asset creation management.
