We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: HR Officer Location: Asaba, Delta Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The HR Officer will work closely with the HR Supervisor, Farm Manager, and farm supervisors to maintain accurate employee records, ensure adequate workforce availability, promptly address employee concerns, and support a productive and compliant work environment. Duties and responsibilities: Support the onboarding of new employees by preparing documentation, coordinating orientation, and ensuring completion of required employment forms. Support the communication and implementation of approved HR policies, procedures, and staff-related directives. Prepare routine HR documents, letters, memos, staff notices, and other employee-related correspondence as required. Assist with the preparation of periodic HR reports and provide relevant data to the HR Supervisor for review and analysis. Collect and verify payroll inputs, including attendance, overtime, leave, allowances, deductions, and other approved employee payments, for review by the HR Supervisor. Support the administration of employee medical, accommodation, transportation, feeding, and other welfare arrangements where applicable. Maintain confidentiality of employee information and ensure proper handling and storage of HR documents. Respond to routine employee enquiries on HR processes, policies, leave, attendance, documentation, and other general HR matters. Assist with the administration of employee leave and maintain accurate leave records. Assist with the documentation of disciplinary cases, warnings, investigations, grievances, and other employee relations matters as directed. Record daily attendance, lateness, absenteeism, overtime, and other workforce-related information and submit reports to the HR Supervisor. Prepare and maintain personnel files and ensure that required employee documentation is properly filed and accessible. Assist with employee welfare activities and coordinate the documentation and follow-up of welfare requests. Maintain a database of casual, seasonal, contract, and permanent workers and update records as required. Follow up on outstanding employee documentation and HR requests to ensure timely completion. Perform other administrative and HR support duties assigned by the HR Supervisor. Assist with the documentation and processing of recruitment activities, including vacancy requests, candidate records, interview schedules, and recruitment documentation. Collect and collate manpower information from farm supervisors for daily and periodic HR reporting. Support the HR Supervisor during HR audits, inspections, employee investigations, and other HR-related assignments. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment documentation, and staff movements. Maintain proper filing of HR documents and ensure that records are kept in accordance with established procedures. Assist in coordinating staff training, including preparing attendance lists, communicating training schedules, and maintaining training records. Receive employee complaints and concerns and refer matters requiring further investigation or management intervention to the HR Supervisor. Provide administrative support for employee confirmation, performance appraisal, promotion, transfer, and exit processes. Qualifications Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word. Basic knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and employment practices. 2-3 years of experience: in Human Resources, preferably within agriculture, manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, or another labour-intensive environment. Minimum of a second-class upper bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or any other relevant discipline. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with farm management and other departments. Good administrative, documentation, and reporting skills. Experience: in HR administration, recruitment, employee records, attendance management, and employee relations. Willingness to work on-site and adapt to the operational requirements: of a farm environment.
