The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of fibre optic infrastructure to ensure reliable network connectivity and minimal service downtime. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in outdoor environments and at heights. Key Responsibilities: Install, terminate, splice, test, and maintain fibre optic cables and related network infrastructure. Diagnose and troubleshoot faults within fibre optic networks and carry out timely repairs to restore service. Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on fibre optic installations. Conduct fibre testing using industry-standard tools such as OTDRs, power meters, and light sources. Read and interpret network diagrams, fibre route plans, and technical documentation. Respond promptly to network outages and emergency maintenance requests. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and service providers to ensure efficient project delivery and fault resolution. Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, test results, and repairs. Operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively. Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices. Perform field assignments that may require climbing poles, working at heights (up to 40–50 feet), and operating in varying weather conditions. Requirements: ND, NABTEB, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related technical field. 1 - 2 years of experience: in fibre optic installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance within the telecommunications industry. Hands-on experience: with fibre optic cable installation, jointing/splicing, termination, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in using fibre testing equipment such as OTDRs, optical power meters, and fusion splicers is an added advantage. Ability to read technical drawings and fibre network schematics. Willingness and ability to work at heights and in outdoor field environments. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work under pressure, respond to emergencies, and meet project deadlines. Valid driver's licence is an added advantage. Salary N150,000 per month.
