Listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), HBM Nigeria Plc is actively participating in the urbanisation and economic growth of Nigeria, the largest economy in Africa. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: Ewekoro, Ogun Role Purpose Ensure the efficient coordination and execution of all mechanical maintenance activities within designated areas of the plant. Role Responsibilities: Develop and follow working methods within the assigned field, define procedures and ensure that they are implemented. Monitor and review/prepare spare parts lists with the Planner. Keep informed of general plant practices to ensure effective participation in on-call duties. Supervise the missions and objectives of the team assigned, conduct performance reviews, ensure the quality of work carried out on site and motivate personnel. Participate in critical failure root cause analysis within the plant. Follow company policies in day-to-day work. Ensure the availability and proper management of tools required for the daily execution of tasks, in accordance with departmental tool procedures. Attend departmental meetings regularly, implement management policies with subordinates and communicate results to the Mechanical Manager. Responsible for the execution of maintenance work carried out on mechanical equipment in the plant, with proper feedback to the Sectional Engineer. Review weekly, monthly and shutdown maintenance tasks with Planners according to production needs. Ensure proper planning of work and resources, with methods and execution of tasks as assigned in the CMMS or by the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, and close out the same in SAP. Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations by subordinates in work areas. Ensure the documentation and filing of all permits, assessments and audit-related files for tracking and performance indicators. Requirements: Educational Qualification and Other Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering. Critical Experience: Demonstrated accuracy in troubleshooting and correcting hydraulic system faults. Excellent ability to interpret engineering drawings. Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience: in a process industry. Strong and in-depth understanding of machine mechanics. Critical Knowledge: Knowledge of Failure Root Cause Analysis techniques. Knowledge of relevant plant equipment and processes. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic conventions. Knowledge of welding conventions and operations. Knowledge of applicable safety standards.
