We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Medical Officer Location: Lekki, Lagos Job Summary The Medical Officer is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality medical care to patients through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services. The role involves both outpatient and inpatient care, emergency response, and close collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Conduct oneself in a manner befitting the head of the clinical team—in competence, character, and as a role model. Conduct thorough patient assessments, listen attentively, make accurate diagnoses, and develop effective, individualized treatment plans. Manage and monitor both outpatient and inpatient cases, ensuring proper follow-up and continuity of care. Be responsive and reliable during medical emergencies, providing critical care and timely support when it matters most. Carry out clinical procedures safely and confidently, in line with medical ethics and hospital protocols. Prescribe medications responsibly, following hospital policies and national medical guidelines. Ensure detailed and accurate patient records—both written and electronic—emphasizing accountability and clarity in documentation. Collaborate closely with nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, and other support teams to deliver coordinated, holistic patient care. Organize and/or participate in daily ward rounds, regular clinical meetings, and multidisciplinary discussions, contributing to shared learning, patient outcomes, and medical research. Ensure that all treatment plans (by self, peers, or seniors) are completed and returned promptly. Refer patients appropriately to specialists or higher levels of care when needed, ensuring timely intervention. Offer clear, compassionate education: to patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and preventive care—building trust through transparency. Support the development of interns and junior doctors through supervision, mentorship, and knowledge sharing. Uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct, maintaining patient confidentiality, dignity, and informed consent. Meet all requirements: for annual registration and licensure. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or MBChB). Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). At least 2 years of post-NYSC clinical experience: ( experience: in primary health care or community medicine is an advantage).
