The role will manage sprint planning, backlog ownership, user story management, acceptance criteria, delivery tracking, stakeholder engagement, product documentation, risk management, release coordination, and management reporting. The role requires strong technical literacy and the ability to understand software architecture, APIs, databases, development dependencies, QA processes, and deployment realities. The role does not require the candidate to be a software developer or write code, but the candidate must be able to communicate effectively with technical teams and translate business/product needs into actionable delivery items. Min Qualification: HND Experience Level: Mid level Experience Length: 4 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Kano, Nigeria Job descriptions & requirements Responsibilities: Product Backlog and Requirements Management: Own and maintain the product backlog in collaboration with the CTO, Product Owners, Developers, QA Engineers, and management. Translate business priorities, stakeholder requests, user feedback, and implementation issues into clear backlog items. Prepare and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, feature descriptions, workflow notes, and product requirements. Ensure that backlog items are clear, prioritised, testable, and ready for development Identify gaps in requirements and work with stakeholders to clarify scope before development begins. Maintain product documentation, module notes, change logs, and requirement traceability where required. Sprint Planning and Delivery Coordination: Coordinate sprint planning, sprint review, backlog refinement, and delivery review meetings. Work with the CTO and development team to break product requirements into tasks, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables. Track sprint progress, pending tasks, blockers, defects, and release dependencies. Ensure developers, QA engineers, product owners, and implementation teams understand their priorities and deadlines. Escalate delivery risks, unclear requirements, technical blockers, resource gaps, and delayed tasks to management. Maintain delivery trackers, sprint boards, and status dashboards. Stakeholder Engagement and Product Communication: Engage internal stakeholders including the CEO, CTO, developers, QA engineers, product owners, implementation team, support team, and management. Support communication with external stakeholders where required, including hospital users, project clients, vendors, and implementation partners. Convert stakeholder feedback into structured product requirements, decisions, and follow-up actions. Ensure that product decisions are documented and communicated to relevant teams Support demonstrations, review meetings, UAT sessions, and release planning discussions. Release Coordination and Quality Readiness: Coordinate release planning with developers, QA engineers, product owners, and implementation teams. Ensure release scope, completed features, pending defects, unresolved risks, and QA status are clearly documented. Support QA and UAT processes by confirming that features have acceptance criteria and testable requirements. Maintain release notes, deployment readiness checklists, and post-release issue trackers. Support go-live preparation and post-release stabilisation. Ensure that release decisions are evidence-based and approved by relevant technical and management leads. Risk Management and Reporting: Maintain a product and delivery risk register covering scope, timeline, technical, quality, stakeholder, resource, and release risks. Track dependencies and ensure blockers are escalated early. Prepare weekly or periodic management reports on delivery progress, completed tasks, outstanding issues, risks, decisions required, and next steps. Provide clear status updates to management without hiding delays or unresolved issues. Support continuous improvement of product delivery processes, documentation, QA readiness, and team coordination. Requirements: A minimum of an HND, or equivalent experience, in computer science, information technology, project management, product management, health informatics, business analysis, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in software project coordination, product ownership, business analysis, technical project management, or a related role. Experience managing backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint plans, and delivery trackers. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Ability to work with software developers, QA engineers, management, and end users. Good understanding of software delivery lifecycle and Agile/Scrum practices. Preferred Skills: Experience working on healthcare software, EMR, EHR, hospital information systems, ERP, fintech, insurance, or workflow-heavy enterprise platforms. Experience supporting UAT, release planning, go-live readiness, and post-release stabilisation. Experience with Jira, ClickUp, Trello, Notion, Confluence, or other delivery/product management tools. Understanding of APIs, databases, role-based access control, application testing, and software deployment. Certification in Project Management, Scrum, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or Health Informatics will be an advantage. Skills and Competencies: Ability to manage backlog, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product priorities Ability to coordinate sprint plans, task tracking, meetings, deadlines, and team outputs Understanding of software development, APIs, databases, QA, deployment, and system dependencies Strong ability to prepare PRDs, user stories, release notes, status reports, and decision logs Ability to engage management, developers, QA, product users, and implementation teams Ability to identify, track, escalate, and manage delivery risks and blockers Ability to coordinate QA readiness, UAT, release notes, deployment readiness, and post-release follow-up Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders Familiarity with Jira, ClickUp, Trello, Notion, Confluence, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar tools Key Deliverables: Product backlog and prioritised delivery roadmap. User stories, acceptance criteria, and requirement notes. Sprint plans, sprint trackers, and delivery status updates. Product documentation, decision logs, and change logs. Risk register, issue log, blocker tracker, and dependency tracker. Release plans, release notes, and deployment readiness checklists. UAT support documents and acceptance tracking. Weekly management reports on progress, risks, blockers, and decisions required. Coordination records from sprint meetings, product reviews, and stakeholder engagements. Clear handover notes for developers, QA engineers, product owners, and implementation teams.
