We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Accounts and Finance Executive Location : Lagos Key Responsibilities: Review journal entries, ledger reconciliations, and trial balances generated by the accounts team. Review various daily and weekly reports for submission to the country and group Finance Heads. Perform any other job-related duties assigned by Finance Heads. Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery of accounts and finance data, records, and reports. Monitor trade financing instruments (Letters of Credit, Bills for Collection), critical for agrochemical imports and commodity exports. Analyze business costs, including warehousing, freight, clearing, and port logistics. Monitor internal control systems across office and warehouse locations. Supervise and oversee the deliverables of senior and junior account team members. Follow up on key issues of intercompany, stock, AR & AP reconciliation. Provide financial oversight for regular physical stock counts, reconciliations, and shrinkage investigations. Manage currency risk and foreign exchange (FX) exposures in line with official company-approved rates. Timely completion of Cognos. Coordinate with the finance team to assist statutory auditors. Prepare the required accounts and finance schedules. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Supervise to ensure optimal liquidity management, tracking daily cash positions across various bank accounts. Required Qualification, Experience: and Skills Ability to influence, support, and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for identifying inconsistencies and errors, such as cost anomalies, inventory leakages, and operational inefficiencies across diverse geographical hubs. Advanced Education: Master’s or MBA in a related discipline is an added advantage Problem-solving and analytical ability. People management and team building skills. Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good knowledge of accounting principles and standards, such as IFRS. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Willingness to visit other business locations, when required. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and accounting software (E.g., Sage Evolution, IBM Cognos, etc.). Sector Experience: Prior experience: in agribusiness, FMCG, manufacturing, or logistics/supply chain companies managing multiple inventory locations is preferred.
