We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Senior Procurement Officer Location: Ibadan, Oyo Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Procurement Supervisor will lead and coordinate the procurement team to ensure efficient, transparent, timely, and cost-effective sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, services, and operational supplies required for the Company's business operations. Key Responsibilities: Monitor procurement KPIs, supplier performance, procurement lead times, cost savings, and order fulfilment. Lead vendor sourcing, evaluation, qualification, onboarding, and periodic performance assessment. Coordinate with suppliers, Stores, Production, Engineering, Finance, and other relevant departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and uninterrupted operations. Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. Ensure effective use of the Company's ERP system for procurement, purchasing, inventory-related transactions, and reporting. Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, availability, and supplier reliability. Supervise and coordinate Procurement Officers to ensure timely and accurate execution of approved purchase requests. Identify procurement risks and opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency. Review purchase specifications and ensure procured materials, equipment, and services meet the required technical, quality, and operational standards. Conduct market research, price benchmarking, and supplier negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and sustainable cost savings. Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure proper documentation of sourcing, quotations, purchase orders, supplier evaluations, and related transactions. Ensure all procurement activities comply with approved company policies, procedures, authorization limits, and internal controls. Requirements: Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills. Strong knowledge of vendor management, strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, procurement best practices, and contract negotiation. Manufacturing industry experience: is mandatory, preferably within FMCG, food processing, agribusiness, poultry, or a similar production environment. Hands-on experience: using ERP systems for procurement, purchasing, inventory management, and related transactions. Strong understanding of procurement controls, approval processes, documentation, and compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to conduct market research, price benchmarking, and cost analysis. High level of integrity, transparency, accountability, attention to detail, and commercial awareness. Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience: in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a seniorrole. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge and practical experience: in CAPEX and OPEX procurement, including sourcing of production materials, engineering spares, equipment, machinery, maintenance items, and operational supplies. Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet procurement deadlines.
