Read more about this company HSE Officer Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience 0 - 2 years Location Ogun Job Field Engineering / Technical Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the HSE Supervisor in implementing the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safety policies within a cable manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the HSE Supervisor in assessing risks associated with tools, equipment, job sites, and work environments. Support the HSE Supervisor in planning and executing all resource requirements for safety operations. Develop and implement emergency preparedness procedures and serve as the first point of contact during emergency situations. Investigate all injuries, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions. Render first aid to employees and visitors in case of injury or illness. Conduct safety-related audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify potential hazards. Enforce adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and statutory regulations. Conduct HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness training for employees and contractors. Support the review and implementation of HSE policies and documentation. Ensure proper waste disposal and environmental compliance within production areas. Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare periodic reports for management. Participate in fire drills and ensure readiness of firefighting and first-aid facilities. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to promote a strong safety culture across all departments. Qualifications & Requirements B.Sc. / HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field. 0 - 2 years of experience in HSE functions, preferably within a cable manufacturing or industrial environment. Good understanding of HSE regulations, ISO 45001/14001 standards, and risk management practices. Basic first-aid knowledge and ability to respond to medical emergencies. Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISPON, OSHA) are an added advantage. Key Attributes: Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
