They are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Group Financial Controller Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Group Financial Controller to provide strategic financial leadership and drive financial excellence across the Group. Key Responsibilities: Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identify key variances, and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and performance. Lead the preparation, review, and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Group financial reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery. Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, regulatory submissions, and other financial obligations across the Group. Identify and manage financial and operational risks, strengthening controls to safeguard the Group's assets and financial integrity. Drive the annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and management reporting processes across the Group. Oversee Group consolidation, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, reconciliations, and reporting across subsidiaries and business units. Establish and strengthen robust financial controls, accounting policies, procedures, and governance frameworks across the Group. Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, tax regulations, and applicable financial reporting standards. Partner with the Group CFO, CEO, executive leadership, and business-unit leaders to provide financial insights that support strategic and commercial decision-making. Provide oversight of cash flow, working capital, liquidity, receivables, and payables, ensuring effective financial resource management. Coordinate Group-wide internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings and implementation of recommended improvements. Lead, mentor, and develop finance teams across the Group, fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Requirements: Experience: within a large, diversified, or multi-sector organisation is highly desirable. Proven experience: in Group financial reporting, consolidation, and multi-entity financial management. Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, audit, taxation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
